四季折々の千代紙と共に過ごす一年間

榛原千代紙を元にデザインされたカレンダーです。 月毎に現れる千代紙は、明治期から伝わる「榛原千代紙画帖」より選び、現代に沿うようにアレンジを加えています。壁掛け用、卓上用がございます。

表紙のはいばら千代紙『牡丹』について

寿ぎの赤に「百花の王」「花王」とたたえられる牡丹を豪華にちりばめた花文様は、幕末生まれの絵師・河鍋暁斎（1831-1889）がはいばら千代紙のために作画しました。天香国色（天のものかと思うばかりの妙なる香り、国中でもっとも優れて美しい色をそなえる）とも表現される牡丹のたたずまいを見事に図案化しています。伝統木版の技術をもって仕上げたはいばらの千代紙はその品質とデザインが海外でも高く評価され、本図もパリ装飾芸術美術館ならびに英国ケルヴィングローヴ美術館・博物館に収蔵されています。

This flower pattern is gorgeously studded with peonies, known as the "king of hundreds of flowers," against a red background, which is considered as an auspicious color. It was created for Haibara Chiyogami by Kawanabe Kyosai (1831-1889), an artist born at the end of the Edo period. The design is a beautiful depiction of peonies, which are said to have a scent that makes you think it's from heaven, and the best and most beautiful colors in the country.
Haibara chiyogami papers, created using traditional woodblock printing techniques, have been highly praised overseas for its quality and design, and this illustration is also in the collections of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in the UK.
